Shoemaking Classes

Welcome to The Fintry Cobbler
WE GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT

About Us
Rob Gibbon began his shoe career in 1979, after graduating from Vancouver Community College's Shoe Repair training program, taught by Paul Andrew, a shoe repairer from Australia. After operating Shoe Repair shops in Squamish and Kelowna, Rob and his wife, Cathy sold their shop in Kelowna and enrolled at Brigham Young University.
They both became educators and taught in School District 23 (Central Okanagan) for many years. Rob also taught courses at Okanagan College, UBCO, and Gonzaga University. Upon retirement, Rob again took up his old passion for shoes, taking several courses in shoemaking, and, eventually setting up a shop in Fintry, BC.
Today, Rob and Cathy welcome you to their home and their business, The Fintry Cobbler. We hope to be able to serve you, either by repairing a valued personal item for you, teaching you to make shoes, or by making you a pair of handmade footwear.
In any case, we'd love to meet you and hope you drop by.
